We are being asked to stay home, self-quarantine, and keep physical distance in order to slow down the spread of a virus that we don’t have a cure for, yet. As are result businesses are closing their doors, people are out of work, and the stress levels are increasing.
What can we do to help? Well, for one thing, it is important to remember that the fight is humans vs virus; not humans against humans. We are in this fight together against one common enemy and that is COVID-19. We need to trust the process and stay home.
Some of us who suffer from mental illnesses are used to self-isolation and have experience dealing with feelings of anxiety and fear. It’s for this reason, I am calling on this incredible community to share with others the tools and coping mechanisms they use to manage these feelings. Isolation does not mean you are alone.
Let’s talk about our emotions. We can spread the MIST (Mental Illness/Isolation Shared Together) and bring us closer. Social media is helping us bridge the gaps in communication and physical isolation. With web meetings, social live streamings, chat groups, we are sharing more than ever before. Let’s use this to build us up and be ready for what is to come.
I welcome anyone to please share their ideas or thoughts on a healthy way to cope with these trying times.
Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this blog.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s challenging to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appearance.
I must say that you’ve done a amazing job with this.
Also, the blog loads very fast for me on Opera. Superb Blog!
